A practical framework for load planning, phasing, uptime and operational growth.

Begin with how your vehicles actually run: daily kilometres, energy use per kilometre, when they return to the depot, and the minimum charge they need to start the next shift. For e-autos, delivery two-wheelers, cabs or electric trucks, these numbers decide the charger mix far more than the brochure power rating.
Not every vehicle needs full power at the same moment. Vehicles that park for eight hours overnight can share power slowly, while a few vehicles that return between shifts need fast top-ups. A clear charging plan, often with load management, avoids paying for transformer capacity you never use.
Overnight charging is usually best done with AC chargers, which are cheaper to buy and install. DC fast chargers make sense for double-shift vehicles or quick turnarounds. Most depots end up with mostly AC and a few DC chargers placed where vehicles can reach them easily.
Draw the final depot layout first, including space, cable routes, panels and the transformer you will eventually need. Then build in stages as the fleet grows. The first phase should make the next one easy, so adding chargers doesn’t mean digging up the yard again.
A fleet depot cannot stop because one charger fails. Plan a little spare capacity, keep critical spares, use networked chargers that show faults remotely, and agree response times in your AMC so a breakdown is fixed before the next shift.
