Installed capacity is only one number. Before deciding on chargers or a transformer, look at how long vehicles stay parked, how much energy they need each day, when the busiest hours are, and who will use the site: residents, staff, customers or a fleet. A highway site and an apartment basement can have the same kW figure and need completely different infrastructure.
Most sites add chargers within a few years. Plan the space, cable routes, panel ways and protection for the final layout on day one, even if you install only two chargers now. Laying a slightly larger cable or keeping a spare trench costs little today, but breaking floors and changing panels later costs a lot and disturbs everyone.
Safe isolation points, enough space around chargers and panels, clear labelling and easy access for the service team are part of a ready site, not extras to add after handover. If a technician cannot reach a breaker without closing the parking, small faults turn into long outages.
Decide early how faults will be noticed and fixed: network monitoring on the chargers, a spares plan for parts that fail most often, and an AMC that defines visit frequency and response time. A charger that is down for a week costs more in lost goodwill than the AMC does in a year.
Readiness also means the numbers work. Electricity tariff category, billing method, expected utilisation and the cost of any DISCOM upgrade should all be known before you commit. A technically perfect site that nobody can afford to run is not ready.
